CHILD SAFETY STANDARDS

Last updated August 04, 2026

ECHO (developed and operated by Fabiana Marselli) has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) of any kind. This page describes the standards and safeguards we apply to protect minors, in line with Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy.

Adults only. ECHO is intended for users aged 18 and over only. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to create or use an account.

No photo or video sharing. ECHO does not support uploading, sending, or displaying photos, videos, or any other media between users — all in-app communication is text-only. This removes one of the most common vectors for CSAE material.

Reporting is built into the app. Any user can block and report another user directly inside ECHO, at any time, with no need to contact us first.

We review every report and cooperate with law enforcement and applicable national and international authorities where required by law.

1. AGE REQUIREMENTS

Users must confirm they are 18 years of age or older before they can use any feature of ECHO. This confirmation is collected explicitly during account setup, as part of our GDPR consent flow, before any other part of the app becomes accessible. We do not knowingly collect data from, or provide services to, anyone under 18. If we become aware that an account belongs to a minor, we terminate it and delete the associated data immediately.

2. NO MEDIA SHARING

ECHO's in-app chat ("7 Istanti") and all other user-to-user communication are strictly text-based. The app does not include any feature to upload, send, receive, or display images, videos, or other media between users. This is a structural safeguard, not just a policy: there is no code path in the app that allows media of any kind to be exchanged between accounts.

3. IN-APP REPORTING AND BLOCKING

Every user can, at any time and without contacting us first:

Reports are stored and reviewed by our team. Where a report indicates behavior that may constitute child sexual abuse or exploitation, we treat it as a priority and, where required by applicable law, report it to the relevant national or international authorities (for example, via NCMEC's CyberTipline in the United States, or the appropriate authority in the reporting user's country).

4. GEOLOCATION AND ANONYMITY SAFEGUARDS

ECHO never reveals a user's exact location, identity, or contact details to another user. Proximity is only ever communicated as "someone is nearby," within a fixed radius, and any further contact requires both people to actively and separately choose to engage. This is designed to prevent one user from being able to track down, locate, or identify another user against their will.

5. COOPERATION WITH AUTHORITIES

ECHO complies with applicable child safety laws and will report credible instances of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or child sexual exploitation to the appropriate national and international authorities, and will cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations, to the extent required and permitted by law.
